East coast
This is the place of mammoth skeletons, sabre-tooth tiger remains and 850,000-year-old human footprints – discoveries that make our East coast of greater historic significance than the Jurassic Coast down south. The Coast Path now stretches down to Sea Palling, allowing you to walk and explore the whole area. Blue-flag beaches can be enjoyed at places including Mundesely and West Runton – the latter perfect for rock-pooling and fossil hunting, and the Broads National Park is close-by if you fancy a day out on the water.
