Description
Just imagine luxuriating in a stylish barn conversion overlooking sweeping landscapes and dripping with the latest technology. You can make this vision a reality with a holiday at Thatch Barn. If you book a stay, you’ll have to make many an arduous decision; will you chill on the modern chaise longue? slink onto the sofa with a good book or curl up with a loved one in the snuggler chair? If you are feeling a little more energetic, work on your muscle tone in the bespoke gym, or perhaps practice your hand at billiards or pool in your very own entertainment mezzanine, complete with bar area - this is luxe living at its chilled best.
Of course, you could opt to stay in bed in sumptuous comfort whilst the budding cook of the party gets to work in the super-slick kitchen. Just remember to pop the fizz in the wine fridge before bedding down! Oh, but then again, the bathroom with underfloor heating and built-in television could tempt you. Surely the wine will have chilled down by the time your bath is run - ready for you to sip whilst you soak in sheer bliss and catch up on your favourite TV programme!
Step out of Thatched Barn during your stay and you will not be disappointed. You will find yourself on Norfolk’s undiscovered Deep History east coast – the place of mammoth skeleton, sabre tooth tiger and 850,000 human footprint discoveries; richer in history than the Jurassic Coast. The Broads National Park is also close-by, so be sure to hire a day boat and lose yourself in this wildlife-rich, peaceful oasis. On returning to the barn you can opt to reside on one of the outdoor loungers and gather for an evening drink as the sun goes down - there's even an ice bucket in the outside table to keep everything cool. All little luxury touches that make a stay at this fabulous retreat a real winner. Shop: 3.3 miles Pub: 3 miles

Clippesby village sits under the big open skies that Norfolk is so famous for and its location close to the east coast beaches and within The Broads National Park, means that you have the best of both worlds on your doorstep. The landscape is relatively flat and makes fantastic cycling country, lying as it does between National Cycle Routes 4 and 5 and there is plenty to see and do in the area. The coast hosts some beautiful sandy beaches, the nearest being Winterton-on-Sea and Horsey. At Horsey get up close and personal with the resident seal colony and if you are visiting in the winter, the seal pups will melt your heart. The Broads National Park boasts 125 miles of inlets and waterways to explore, seek out the Canoe Man who will take you in a kayak to explore some of the quieter reaches of the river systems – a perfect escape from your everyday world, or enjoy a guided wildlife trip on a larger boat at nearby Horsey Mere. Car enthusiasts will enjoy a visit to Caister Castle Car Collection in the summer months, one of the largest, privately-owned collections in the country. The children will enjoy taking to the raised walkways at Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens for a unique view of its Asian animal inhabitants or an outing to the resident Hippodrome Circus in Great Yarmouth. For walkers, Weaver’s Way is easily accessible with plenty of circular routes within it, if you are not planning the whole route which runs from Cromer to Great Yarmouth. Spoilt for choice, this is a great part of Norfolk, come and discover it for yourself, you won’t regret it.
