Dog on beach

After a long walk along the Norfolk coast, there is nothing better than sitting down for a cup of tea and bite to eat. Discover some cafés dotted along the beautiful Norfolk coast which welcome your four-legged friends with open arms.

Wells Beach Café
Wells-next-the-Sea

A nominee for the Dog Friendly Awards 2018, the Beach Café at Beach Road, Wells-next-the-Sea is a fun and vibrant place for a drink and bite to eat. It is situated in an idyllic location, backed by gorgeous mature pinewoods and a short walk from the sandy beach. Beach Café is ideal all year round, with a roaring wood-burning stove to sit around in the winter and a sunny terrace to relax upon in the summer.

Dogs are welcomed at Beach Café. In the summer, their self-service ‘Wash ‘n’ Wag’ service is free and a great chance to wash your dog down before climbing back into the car to go home. Your pup can also enjoy a drink at Berties Bark-up Bar. Feel free to enter your four-legged friend into the ‘Dog of the Year’ competition on the café’s Facebook page - just simply post a photo of your dog enjoying the Beach Café for a chance to be the winner of 2018! Why not enrol your dog into their fantastic ‘K-9 Club’ to receive latest news via email.

Every Wednesday between 10am - 12noon, you can bring your doggy friend along for a weekly group walk. This is a great chance to meet new friends and explore the beautiful pinewoods and Wells beach. This walk is free, so simply turn up, and don’t forget a lead and doggy bags!

Seaview Beach Café
West Runton

The wonderful Seaview Beach Café at West Runton has been owned and run by the same family for over 20 years. There has been a café situated at West Runton Gap for over 100 years and the current building was built in the 1960’s. Enjoy delicious food and a refreshing hot drink, admiring the views of the Norfolk coast.

The Café and the beach are very dog friendly, perfect for all the family. As the beach can get busy with families and children during the summer months there is a small dog restriction on the beach (if you are unsure of the dog restriction, please ask at the Car Park Hut, Cafe or Lifeguard Station).

Monday – Sunday 9am – 5pm (open from mid March to the end of October)

Cliff Top Café
Overstrand

The Cliff Top Café at Overstrand has been providing delicious homecooked food since 1925. Renowned for their Full English Breakfasts, hearty lunches and yummy cakes, the Café is a relaxing and welcoming place to sit and let the world pass you by after a refreshing walk along the beach. The Café has been recently refurbished and now offers gorgeous sea views from their cliff-top location via their new bi-folding glass doors.

Dogs are most welcome in the Café and Garden, however must be kept on leads. The Café stocks delicious home-baked organic dog treats by Alfie & Molly.

Petals Tea Room
Dersingham

The delightful Petals Tea Room is located a 1 minute drive from Sandringham Estate. The Tea Room is perfect for a nice cup of team and some scones after a walk around Sandringham. The Tea Room offers a wonderful selection of tea and coffees, including mixed berry tea, chamomile tea, Assam tippy tea, flat white coffees, mochaccinos, cappuccinos and much more. A selection of delicious afternoon teas are also available, from as little as £5.50 per person.

Petals Tea Room is very dog friendly, and dogs are encouraged to come along. Your four-legged friend can have a snooze in front of the roaring fire while you tuck into your slice of cake.

Wednesday – Sunday 10.30am – 4.30pm

Art Café
Glandford

Grey Seal Coffee opened the fabulous Art Café in Glandford 7 years ago, directly opposite to their old roastery. Interestingly, the building once used to be a carrot washing shed! Grey Seal Coffee lovingly converted the old Norfolk flint barn into a wonderful café, retaining the traditional brick and flint walls and all the original roof beams. Nowadays, the Art Café offers a delicious vegetarian breakfast, a good choice of lunches and a great selection of cakes and pastries from their onsite bakeries - all using locally sourced ingredients where possible. And, of course, their very own Grey Seal specialty coffee and tea!

Inside the Café you will find a special gallery of art and crafts, including paintings, ceramics, jewellery and textiles. There is also a shop selling Grey Seal coffees and teas, their own range of yummy jams, local produce and essential coffee making accessories.

The Art Café is a delightful place to visit all year round. In the winter, you can cosy around the log fired stove and, in the summer, you can sit outside in their courtyard and enjoy a bite to eat. The Art Café is very welcoming to well behaved dogs. On cooler days, your four-legged friends can warm up by the fire, and in the summer, enjoy a snooze in the sunshine.

Monday – Sunday 10am – 4pm

Shucks
Thornham

Shucks is part of Drove Orchards in Thornham and offers a relaxed dining experience to remember. Their menus, cooked by award-winning local chef Philip Milner, offer a unique twist on traditional dishes, using as much delicious local produce as possible. Perfect any time of year, come and relax by the log fire with a coffee in the winter or dine al fresco next to the beautiful orchards in the summer time.

Shucks is fantastic for the whole family. They have a special Kid's Corner, filled with books, toys and colouring to keep them amused along with an exciting outdoor play, complete with a mud kitchen! Four-legged friends are always welcome in their restaurant.
