Blakeney retreats
Oh my, how pretty Blakeney is. A beautiful quay protecting tinkling sails and bobbing boats, a handful of children mud-sliding on the banks and native birdlife sweeping overhead. The two streets are lined with traditional cottages – all cobbled walls and Dutch gables – galleries, shops and tearooms. Renowned for a spot of crabbing, you can equip yourself with a clear bucket, net, line and a few rashers of bacon, and while away a few hours. Turn left out of the quay and you can walk to Morston, where you can hop on a boat trip to see the seals at Blakeney Point. Wonderful no matter what month you visit.
