Theatres

Our coastline offers an abundance of theatres...

The Corn Exchange, Kings Lynn – located on the historic Tuesday Market Place in central Kings Lynn, this venue offers a packed programme of comedy, theatre and more.

The Princess Theatre, Hunstanton – named after The Princess of Wales, this is a lovely local theatre and cinema at the very heart of the local community.

Screen-next-the-Sea, Wells-next-the-Sea – housed in the old Maltings, this venue provides live screens of theatre, opera and dance, as well as popular and fringe film.

The Auden Theatre, Holt – on the grounds of Gresham’s School (past high-culture students include Benjamin Britten, W H Auden, Stephen Fry, Sebastian Shaw, Olivia Colman and Stephen Frears), this quaint theatre hosts a rich programme, and sits alongside the newly built Britten Building with a 900-seater performance space.

Sheringham Little Theatre – a wonderful little theatre with a varied programme, including their notable Summer Series of theatre and music.  The theatre is also renowned for its intimate and fun panto each Christmas.

The Pavilion, Cromer Pier – home to a fabulously lively and entertaining The Cromer Pier Show each summer season and Christmas period, generally awarded 5-stars by The Stage.  It’s certainly one of a kind and not to be missed.

Britannia Pier, Great Yarmouth – From big-bill comedians and touring shows, to pantos and children’s theatre, an entertaining night out is guaranteed together with a good dose of traditional seaside nostalgia!

The Hippodrome Circus, Great Yarmouth – the UK’s only surviving permanent circus building, their Summer and Christmas Spectaculars are out of this world.  Combining all the thrills and spills of the circus, with superior talent and a grand water show, you’ll find it hard to top.
